Achievements

  • The Annual Session of the U.P. History Congress was organised by the Department in 2006.
  • The Department organised a National Seminar: “The Revolt of 1857 in Awadh: Myth and Reality” sponsored by Indian Council of Historical Research , New Delhi in 2007.
  • A National Seminar was also organized by the Department: “Awadh from a Mughal Subah to the Kingdom” sponsored by Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi in 2010.
  • Prof. Rashmi Rekha, Prof. Aroop Chakravarti, Dr. S.A. Rizvi and Dr. Shama Mahmood have been sectional presidents of the U P History Congress.
  • Dr. Manisha is also the Assistant Proctor,  University of Lucknow 
  • Some of our students who have made their mark in the field of Research and Academics as well as have qualified in Civil and Allied Services, NET(UGC) JRF etc.
  • Prof. Ajay Singh Rawat, Former Head, Deptt. of History Kumaun University Nainital, Uttarakhand
