- The Centre of Excellence in Renewable Energy Education and Research is a Solar Energy Training Network (SETNET) Partner under the National Institute of Solar Energy (An autonomous institution under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India).
- 10 students of M Sc Renewable Energy 1st Year and 10 students of M Sc Renewable Energy 2nd Year receive scholarships from Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India @ Rs 4,000/- per month.
- The topper of M Sc Renewable Energy 1st year also receives ONGC Ltd. scholarship of Rs 5,000/- per month during the 2nd year

- The students of M Sc Renewable Energy participated in North India Solar Summit-2016, 2017, 2018 and Solar Conclave-2019 held at the Indian Industries Association, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow
- Syllabus of B Voc Renewable Energy Technology has been revised in accordance with Skill Development Programme and Industrial requirements.
- Laboratory and Library facilities have been strengthen by purchase of additional equipments/books required.
Social activities performed:
- Two groups of M Sc Renewable Energy students participated in Solar Urja Lamp competition organized by the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai and both the groups were awarded Rs 20,000/- each being ranked in the competition in the top 20 ranks. Also, the M Sc Renewable Energy final year students participated SPARK (Green Building Designing Competition) organized by the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai and were ranked in the competition in the top 20 ranks.
- The students of M Sc Renewable Energy Programme fabricated and installed Improved Woodstoves at Tehatna Village and at the Jeevaniya Society office in Malihabad in Lucknow District.
- The students fabricated and installed Solar Dryer at the Salihabad Grameen Manch, Malihabad Area, Lucknow District for drying of mango juice.
- The students of M Sc Renewable Energy have mounted exhibitions on Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas, Gomti River Cleaning functions and exhibitions mounted during the University Convocations.
- The innovative student projects have been awarded by the UPNEDA during Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas functions.
- Students projects like Concentrating Solar Cooker and Solar Bicycles were displayed during the functions held at the Regional Science City, Lucknow.
Other achievement:
The Centre of Excellence in Renewable Energy Education and Research established at the New Campus of the University of Lucknow is well known globally and nationally for activities like innovative projects, training programmes and research work.
