Renewable Energy

M Sc Renewable Energy Programme started from 2007-08 academic session. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India provided one-time financial grant of Rs 50,00,000/- to upgrade the laboratory and library facilities for M Sc Renewable Energy Programme and to develop a Centre of Excellence in Renewable Energy Education and Research at the University of Lucknow.

The Centre of Excellence in Renewable Energy Education and Research has been established by the University of Lucknow to promote education and research in the field of Renewable Energy in 2013. The Centre is presently located in the Administrative Block at New Campus of the University of Lucknow. The Centre is being supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, New Delhi. The Ministry has sanctioned one-time grant to strengthen the laboratory and library facilities of the M Sc Renewable Energy Programme and sanctioned the 10 scholarships of Rs 4,000/- per student per month for the Programme. The Ministry has also sanctioned PDFs/JRFs/SRFs under the National Renewable Energy Fellowship Scheme for the Centre and has accredited the Centre to impart short-term training programmes. The Centre is a Solar Energy Training Network (SETNET) Partner of the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), Gurgaon.

 

The Centre is presently carrying out the following activities:

  • M Sc Renewable Energy Programme
  • B Voc Renewable Energy Technology Programme
  • Training Partner with Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ)
  • Solar Energy Training Network (SETNET) Partner of the National Institute of Solar Energy to organize the following training courses in the field of Solar Energy:
    • Konark
    • Surya
    • Bhaskar
    • Aryabhatta
  • “Suryamitra” Skill Development Training Programme for pass outs of ITIs and Diploma holders, especially in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical disciplines for solar photovoltaic power plants’ installation, maintenance and monitoring.
  • “Varunmitra” Skill Development Training Programme for pass outs of B Tech/Diploma holders, especially in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical disciplines for solar Water Pumps’ installation, maintenance and monitoring.
  • Capacity Building in Grid-connected Rooftop and Small Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant Programme.
