About the Shodh Peeth
The Uttar Pradesh government has promoted research to create new knowledge about various aspects, dimensions, processes etc. of education. In the year 2016, on the occasion of the ‘Birth Centenary’ year of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay ji, the Uttar Pradesh government announced the establishment of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shodh Peeth in the state universities. On 01 December 2017, the government announced the formal establishment of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Research Chair in fifteen state universities simultaneously, which also included University of Lucknow. The Shodh Peeth has immense potential for interdisciplinary intellectual and academic interaction, interface and exchange. The body of work of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya also envisages a multidimensional character. This fact provides ample academic and research capabilities for development in contemporary times.
The establishment of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Research Chair is of utmost importance to carry forward his legacy. The Chair focuses on interdisciplinary research involving socio-economic development, cultural studies and political theory, reflecting his contributions in these fields. The Chair provides a platform to researchers to delve deeper into topics such as Integral Humanism.

Activities
The Shodh Peeth is actively engage in research and academic activities by organizing and conducting seminars, workshops, and lectures by inviting eminent scholars and practitioners from the relevant fields to delve deeper and build new bridges of knowledge between western-centric knowledge and the knowledge emanating from the Indian way of life.
In compliance with guidelines received from the Honorable Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel ji, the Shodh Peeth has adopted five villages. In the schools located in these villages, the Shodh Peeth regularly organizes various programs, such as speech, storytelling, and painting competitions, for the overall development of students. In addition, students are also provided guidance regarding their careers.
The Shodh Peeth has periodically adopted patients with tuberculosis under the national TB elimination programme, ensuring compliance with the guidelines provided by her Excellency the Honorable Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel ji. Currently, the Shodh Peeth has adopted 79 patients with tuberculosis on the auspicious occasion of the 75th birthday of the Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji. The Shodh Peeth provides nutritional support to these patients throughout their treatment.
