2 One week Faculty Development Programme on “Imparting Skills for Research Paper Writing” was inaugurated at Prof. S.B Singh Auditorium, Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow from Nov 22-Nov 28, 2022. Shri Danish Azad Ansari, Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, was the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony. During this journey number of experts, namely Prof. Rajeev Pandey; Dr. Manoj Kumar; Dr. Girish; Dr. Deepak Jaiswal; Prof. A.K. Sharma; Prof. S.C. Das; Prof. Pradeep Kautish; Dr. Sarvesh Kumar, from renowned institution like University of Lucknow; JNU, New Delhi; Siddharth University; IIT Kanpur; BHU; Nirma University; Central University of Himanchal Pradesh (CUHP), became part of this programe and shared their experience on the related theme with our participants. 3 New batch with lightening energy was welcomed at freshers 2022 on 30th Dec at firefly by the Second year MBA (Finance and Accounting batch). The day with auspicious moments, and a fun loving eve was started with a healthy introduction of all juniors and seniors. 6 Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow has started a Special Lecture Series on Oct, 15 2022 in the memory of Late Prof. R.K Tripathi. The first session was taken by Prof. (Dr). Furqan Qamar, Centre for Management Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi on the theme “Save the Banks, Save the Nation”. View
7 INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS – 15.08.2022 With the advent of "Har Ghar Trianga" Campaign and the University being wrapped in the colours of Rashtriya Dhwaja, the Department of Commerce celeberated 76th Independence Day on August 15, 2022. The celebration started with the hoisting of National Flag being addressed by all the faculty/non-faculty members of the Department and the students. The members also administered "Balika Suraksha Shapath" as per the orders of Women and Child Development Department in view of ensuring girls' safety and empowerment as well as to spread awareness for the same. Offering tribute to a ray of freedom fighters Mahatma Gandhi, Jawarhar Lal Nehru, Netaji Subash Chandra Bose among others, Prof. Audhesh Kumar, Head of the Department reminded all about the freedom struggle our great leaders had gone through and also contended to pay respect to our freedom fighters and follow their foot-prints. He also made everyone aware about the various schemes of the government directed towards public welfare as well as the achievements so far. The celebration concluded with the distribution of sweets among all the members who continued their discussion of the struggle and hard work of our great freedom fighters. View
8 In order to encourage the students to feel proud of the department of commerce and motivate them to excel in their area, Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow has dedicated a wall of its building to notable alumni of the department. The Wall of Fame showcases the details of the twenty two most famous alumni of the department who have excelled in different fields of their interest. This wall, which is near the entrance of the department, has pictures of personalities, like, Bhau Rao Devrasji, an Eminent Social reformer, also behind the grooming of well known leaders, Shri. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Pt. Deen Dayal Uppadhyay, Shri. Vishnu Kant Shastri and Shri. Bapu Rao Moghe, Shri Dinesh Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister (Uttar Pradesh), Prof. R.M. Lall, World’s First D.litt. in accountancy from Lucknow University, Ex. Director of RBI for two consecutive terms, Dr Jagdish Gandhi, Founder Manager of City Montessori School (CMS) Group of Institutions, Lucknow, UNESCO, Prize Winner for Peace Education 2002 -‘A Distinctive School’ for CMS, Prof. Furqan Qamar, Former Vice-chancellor of University of Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh, among other eminent personalities. The department believes that this, Wall of Fame will encourage the students to work hard and feel esteemed to be a part of the Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow family. View
9 The Department of Commerce is not only confined to academics. Breaking the boundaries, it organized a talent hunt music competition to pay a tribute to Late Sri Lata Mangeshkar, Bharat Ratna Awardee on February 28, 2022. This involved a participation of approximately 150 students who showed all enthusiasm and energy in the event. View
10 Be it research, academics, extra-curricular or festival, the Department of Commerce never stays behind. On the evening of March 23, 2022, it celebrated Holi, the festival of colors and organized an event, ‘Rang-e-Riwaaz’. The Department Head, Prof. Avadhesh Kumar invited everyone in the institute in this event. All the administrative authorities including the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Alok Kumar Rai, the Registrar, Proctor, Dean, as well as faculty/non faculty members were welcomed to share the joyous moments of the festival with the splash of colorful gulal and spread the brotherhood and cheerfulness of the festival. 11 Over the years, yoga has gained popularity and is now regarded as a trend in maintaining both physical and mental well-being. To achieve harmony and to improve flexibility, strength, and balance, practicing yoga regularly is necessary. To raise awareness among students about the value of yoga in enhancing both physical and mental health, Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow conducted a yoga session on June 21 in observance of “International Yoga Day”. 12 Industrial visits aim to provide students with an insight into the corporate world. It aids students with the practical real world perspective on different functions of an organisation such as Finance Operations, Marketing and HR. Understanding the crucial importance of industrial visit, the Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow organized an industrial visit for the students of MBA (F&A) batch 2021-2023 on June, 7 2022. This provided an opportunity to students to tour the production plant of Organic India Pvt Ltd., Lucknow who were enthralled to see the various production plants producing different variants (tulsi), herbal supplements as well as ayurveda supplements usage, capacity, cost and production based on demand, bottling procedure, storage system and warehousing. 13 The Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow, has always practised innovation as a tool to create excellence. Following the trend, the department undertook an initiative to guide its students for the UGC- NET/JRF examination through its ‘Super 30’ classes. A batch of 30 students was selected on the basis of an exam conducted by the department. These students were provided free classes and guidance from experts to clear the UGC-NET exam. View
14 Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow organized “Mission Shakti Phase III” on December 20th 2021 with the theme of “Women Empowerment”. Guest Speaker of the programme Sqn Ldr “Toolika Rani”, Ex- Indian Air Force Officer, U.P. first woman Everest climber & Global Motivational Speaker addressed the gathering with her motivational thoughts on the theme. 15 As, we strongly believe that every individual wants to grow, to be better at something and ultimately have a lasting sense of happiness and satisfaction, a Guest Lecture of Professor, Madhurima Pradhan on “Personality Growth & Happiness” was organized by Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow on December 18th, 2021. 16 Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow, observed “Global Handwashing Day” on October, 15 2021. The aim of was to promote, motivate and mobilize people to improve their handwashing habits. View
17 Student Awareness Program was organized by Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow, on March, 23, 2021 with the theme “Entrepreneurship Development”. The aim of this awareness program was to develop entrepreneurial quality among students and inculcate problem solving skills in order to cope with challenges in real life. View
18 Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow organized “Mission Shakti Phase II” on February 7th & 8th 2021 with the theme of “Sexual offences-support to Adolescent Boys and Girls”. The aim was to make students aware of their sexual rights and they are encouraged to express their views through rangoli, poetry and poster making competition relating to the theme. View

21 A one week Workshop on GST Training under skill development & self employment was organized by Bhau Rao Devras Shodh Peeth, Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow from May 4, 2022 to May 10, 2022. The aim of the workshop was to provide an understanding of GST and enhance their skill in the structured and practical manner and use such skills to take managerial decisions. View
22 The Faculty Development Programme on ‘Research Methodology in Entrepreneurship Development’ was conducted to bridge the gap in quality research and skills in entrepreneurial development in India. The programme was organised by the Department of Commerce (Centre of Excellence), University of Lucknow, from 3rd March to 9th March, 2022. A total of 30 academicians across India took part in the FDP. The major focus of the programme was to benefit the participants with research knowledge being delivered by experienced resource person. 23 A three-day workshop on “Stock Market” was organised by the Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow, in collaboration with the Candlestick Hub from 20th December to 22nd December 2021. The primary goal of the workshop was to introduce the participants to the basics of the stock market and its working mechanism. Some major criteria discussed in the event were the basics of the stock market, fundamental analysis and technical analysis. The workshop also displayed a live trading session for the participants to comprehend the stock market trading mechanism. View
24 The Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow, in collaboration with the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, hosted a national seminar on ‘Entrepreneurship Development: Roadmap to Employment Generation and Growth’. The seminar was a two-day programme organised on February 18 and 19, 2021. The inaugural session of the event was honoured in the presence of Shri Brajesh Pathak, the then Minister of Law & Justice, U.P. Government. View
25 A two weeks online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ‘Entrepreneurial Research’ was successfully conducted by the Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow, from January 5 to January 18, 2021. The FDP received an overwhelming response with 61 candidates who actively participated in the event with all their enthusiasm and zeal. For creating new economic development or innovation, the programme made participants aware with various information gathering platform from multiple fields (company, finance, consumer behaviour, trademarks patents). 26 The Faculty of Commerce, University of Lucknow, organized a two-day international conference on 27th and 28th January 2018, based on the theme ‘Vision 2022: A New India’ in 2018. The conference's primary goal was to create a place or platform for discussions on the perspectives of A New India.The event gave participants an opportunity to share their opinions on the theme and be open to fresh ideas and notions. 27 The Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow believes in continuous interaction between industry and academia for exploring shift in commerce & management practices and extend a vibrant platform for every stakeholder for sharing of ideas. It hence took forward to organize the 69th All India Commerce Conference of Indian Commerce Association on November 11-13, 2016 and proudly hosted approximately 3000 participants from all over India. 28 The Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow, organised a Faculty Development Programme on “Technology-Based Research Methodology and Data Analysis” from October 26 to November 1, 2015. A total of 103 academicians participated from all over India in this academic event. This FDP assisted the participants in improving their knowledge and abilities related to research techniques and data analysis. View

31 A Guest lecture of Professor, G.C Tripathi, Ex-Vice Chancellor BHU on “New Education Policy” was organized by Bhau Rao Devras Shodh Peeth, Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow on March 1, 2021. The aim of this program was to make faculty and student aware of NEP-its Pros and Cons and its relevance in education system. View
32 A Special lecture of Shri V.P. Sahi, Former Director, Amity Business School, on “Start-up India – Challenges & Opportunities” was organized by Bhau Rao Devras Shodh Peeth, Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow on April 6, 2022 with the aim of inculcating entrepreneurship skills in students at various levels and help budding entrepreneur. 33 Bhau Rao Devras Shodh Peeth, Department of Commerce, Lucknow University in association with Small Industries & Manufacturers Association, had organized a National Seminar on Start-up on April, 23 2018. The aim was to give students an idea of how a small startup plan can be taken at international level by implementing some useful tips. View
34 Bhau Rao Devras Shodh Peeth, Department of Commerce, Lucknow University and Small Industries & Manufacturers Association (SIMA) celebrated Women’s day on March 8, 2021 in which 30 working women from different field were honored with achievement award. View
35 A tribute was dedicated on the death anniversary of Hon’ble Bhau Rao Devras ji, on May 13, 2022 by Bhau Rao Devras Shodh Peeth, Department of Commerce, University of Lucknow. Prof. Audhesh Kumar Head of Department, Prof. Somesh Shukla, Director, Bhau Rao Devras Shodh Peeth and Chief speaker Shri Manoj Ji, Sah Pranth Pracharak (Awadh), Rashtriya Swayam Seva Sangh, gave a special lecture on the topic,“Samajik Udyamita Evam Yuva” and offered their tribute to Hon’ble Bhau Rao Devras ji. All the teaching/non-teaching members alongwith students also paid their tribute to Hon’ble Bhau Rao Devras ji. View
