The thrust area of the department is to expose students and research scholars with Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System (GIS) and statistical software to enhance their skills in research. It is also be necessary to train faculty members of this Department in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS) to ensure exposure of future students with this technology and with Introduction of innovative and job oriented curriculum. Special attention is paid to the theoretical and the practical aspects in curricular design that make the students familiar with modern technological skills and devices and thereby making them eligible for getting jobs in various public and private concerns. The department updates physical infrastructure and motivate teachers to use Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in teaching and learning process. Other thrust area would be to motivate students and teachers to promote awareness and research in environmental studies.
